Transitioning to Fall…texture, color and layering…

With Fall quickly approaching and the weather temperatures fluctuating it is quite the chore to dress appropriately.  I typically find myself freezing and as I work in an office, jackets and sweaters are a must.

Today’s outfit is one of my most versatile.  I’ve worn this combo during the winter with taupe tights and boots as well as during this past Summer by losing the jacket and adding cute wedges.

I love the layering and dimension of this outfit.  There is a lot going on but with muted colors, you can amp up the patterns and make the look more interesting.  Don’t be afraid to mix and match similar colors and textures!

The jacket and skirt from this post are both by Simply Very, by Very Wang @Kohls.  It’s a great brand…with lots of beautiful textures and colors.  Check it out here!

Oh!  And one more thing…my family and I are heading to the beach this fine Labor Day weekend for one last Summer hurrah!  There will be more blog posts next week but check me out on Instagram or Twitter @Cortneybreblog also as I’ll be updating those daily!

    1. Thank you Ms. Huntress! I am totallllly with you on the tights and boots too…I’m in need of the slimming and shaping effect of some tights right now! 😛 xx..>Cortneybre..

  1. Hi Cortney! I’m enamored by your outfit and how it plays up different textures and designs yet still look so polished and elegant! Love your Audrey Hepburn moment 😉 – Lena

  2. As you know, I’m a fan. I appreciate the hard work and everything you share here. I hope you don’t mind that I have nominated you for the Liebster Award – an award dedicated to new bloggers who don’t have thousands of followers. (Since I’ve been having trouble finding out your follower number, pardon me if you don’t belong to this category.) Head over to http://zhours.me/2014/09/04/liebster-award/ to read the particulars. XOXO – zhours
