Whew! What a week…I’ve been so busy with work and life that I’ve not had time to post.

Due to my hectic schedule this has been a week of wardrobe repeats…but I must say that having this blog makes it so easy to put something together!  I can basically just copy one of my looks from a previous post and no brain power gets wasted on figuring out what to wear.

Unfortunatley, I’m still wrapping up work related items but I do have just a couple of snapshots for today that I took quickly in between appointments.  This look hasn’t been featured before and it is simple but visually interesting.  I love mixing floral prints with stripes and other patterns.  Add some pearls and you’re ready to roll!

Hope you have a superb weekend, my friends!! Till next week..Cortneybre…

Hey…I Put Some New Shoes On and Suddenly Everything Is Right…

New Shoes

Hey, I put some new shoes on,
And suddenly everything is right,
I said, hey, I put some new shoes on and everybody’s smiling,
It’s so inviting,
Oh, short on money,
But long on time,
Slowly strolling in the sweet sunshine,
And I’m running late,
And I don’t need an excuse,
’cause I’m wearing my brand new shoes….
Artist: Paolo Nutini   Song: New Shoes

I’ve been listening to a lot of Paolo Nutini lately and I thought his song, New Shoes, was a good introduction for today’s post.  The song is upbeat, quirky and happy…just like my new shoes!

I received a shipment from ASOS this weekend.  It contained a couple of wonderful skirts (one of which, I’m featuring today) and this lovely pair of shoes.  I’ve worn the shoes all weekend!  They are so versatile and go with everything.  They are also comfortable, which is rare.

Unfortunately, I am also now “short on money but long on time” so I think I’ll be repurposing some of my favorite items to wear with my new skirts and shoes.  Be sure to check out my posts later this week as I’ll be showcasing these new items!  Have a great Monday!  Cortneybre…

P.S.  Although I love making and posting my photo collages, I am also going to include my individual shots going forward.  As I post to some external sites (ex: Lucky Contributor), it seems the collages do not display well and individual shots are necessary.

Casual Friday…Don’t Dress TOO Fancy…

001 collage (1)

Well, its Friday – yay!  I decided to dress down today as last Friday I was told I looked as if I was going to a party.  Not a bad thing to be told…and I’m not complaining.  I chose to take it as a compliment, because how else could they have meant it?  (Yeah..I know..I know…but it’s not gonna stop me!)

Since jeans are not permissible at work, I thought a chambray shirt would be the next best thing.  I also decided on a yellow skirt I’ve had for a year or so.  I really like the pattern and texture of the skirt even if it’s a little short.  In searching for something to pull the outfit together, I remembered a JCREW statement necklace I received as a gift a couple of years ago.  The necklace has the faintest hint of yellow and when paired with yellow gem earrings I thought it solidified the outfit.  Finally, I threw on a favorite pair of wedge boots by Franco Sarto and a matching pair of tights.

Hello Friday!  Have a great weekend!  Cortneybre…

How to have a Fabulous Friday…just add a pink bow, gem necklace and a little love!

Most people dress down on Fridays.  However, keep in mind…it’s the heralding of the weekend (after you finish that work day of course).   So…instead of dressing down on Fridays why not have a Fabulous Friday dressed up in your finest instead?!

Here are a few tips for having a Fabulous Friday!

  • Wear something shiny, shimmery…gem-y or glittery!
  • Wear Pink! (and I don’t wanna hear anything from those ladies who don’t like pink…I know you’re out there…  but I’d rather pretend you’re not..shudder…)
  • Better yet, wear a pink bow!  (a double dose of delight!)
  • Mix your patterns! (take a risk or two or three…Fridays are for pushing the limits.  Plus, no one will remember what you wore on Friday when Monday rolls around anyway, right?!)
  • Love yourself and be a billboard for love!  (I’m wearing my love shirt today and I like to share the love.  Call it a subliminal message that I’m sending to all that see me!)

I hope you enjoy your weekend!!  Cortneybre…

P.S…I must say that I had not imbibed a few cocktails before I took these shots…I look a bit rumpled but it was windy and cold here today!  Don’t let the sunshine fool you!  Cb….
