In need of the perfect dress for summer….look no further!
Dress: Kate Spade NY Bag: Kate Spade NY
Wedges: ShoeDazzle Madison Jewelry: Charming Charlie
I fell in love with this Kate Spade dress a few months ago. It’s just beautiful with its fit and flare silhouette and bateau neckline.
The cut is perfect and it fits true to size and is made of a breathable cotton fabric with just enough silk to give it weight and shine.
It does come with a bit of a hefty price tag so I decided to wait until it either went on sale or I could find something similar.
Typically, if I find something I like but cannot splurge, I search for similar items on Google to see if I can get the same look for less.
This usually yields great results and I’m able to find something similar to what I am seeking at a much more reasonable price.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case with this dress. It was only available as a Kate Spade and with Kate Spade prices. I decided to wait until the dress went on sale (fingers nimbly crossed that it would) and checked the Kate Spade site weekly.
Finally, it did make the sale page and was an additional 25% off also! What a steal!
The dress is still on sale actually but unfortunately is only available in size 00. If you LOVE the dress as much as I but wear a different size than the one offered on the Kate Spade site, you can purchase it at alternate websites also.
The prices on these sites aren’t discounted but if you’re willing to splurge, you can buy it using the link I’ve provided at the end of the post.
Hope you’re having a great week!
Oh the weather outside is WONDERFUL! Spring has finally sprung and I’m so enjoying life sans tights and coats!
SKIRT: KATE SPADE NY

NECKLACE: BANANA REPUBLIC
I’m always searching for simple, comfortable tops. I seem to always be at a deficit; either too many wonderful skirts or pants and no tops or tons of fabulous tops and not a bottom to be found!
I saw this simple but cute and comfy blue and white striped top at Target last week. I loved the true blue color of the striping and thought the neckline was perfect.
If you know me at all, you know I’m not shy when it comes to wearing REALLY bright colors! Shine bright is my motto!
I also want to show off another new fave of mine! I was graciously offered to try a pair of glasses from Firmoo.
Firmoo is a global, online optical store. I was impressed with their selection, quality and value!
Glasses: by FIRMOO -F1017
I especially LOVE the “Nerd Glasses” section of their website. It’s perfect for me – I love nerd chic! The glasses were delivered quickly and came in a cute, chic case.
With Spring upon us, my seasonal allergies are behaving quite badly at the moment. (Ignore those bags under my eyes…I’m dying a slow death via pine pollen). It is SO nice to be able to put on these cute glasses and still be fashionable and functional!
And just look how cute they are as a bag accessory! Overall, I really liked the glasses and if you’re in the market for a new pair, check out Firmoo here!
I hope you have a fantastic Friday, a great weekend and a wonderful Easter!
I’m so backed up on my blog posts! I have tons and tons of pictures and no time to post! This post has been burning in my brain since last week. I’d waited for weeks for this fantastic dress from Chic Wish and literally tore off the tags and wore it the next day.
Dress: Chic Wish Bag and Shoes: Kate Spade NY
Blouse: LOFT Sunglasses: Isaac Mizrahi
This dress is quite the statement piece and I was happy to dress it down (and warmer) with tights and a sweater blouse. Can’t wait until warmer weather also to wear it with a more springy ensemble!
As with my other Chic Wish purchases, the fabric is just fantastic! I love the sheen and weight of the dress.
Let me just say a teensy bit about these sunnies too! How fantastic are they!? I found these beauties at Nordstrom Rack and just can’t put them down. They are such a statement in themselves!
I hope you’re having a great week! Check me out on Instagram and Twitter also at @Cortneybreblog!
I really do try to not check out the Chic Wish website. I seriously need to save some of my pay check for the future. What can I say, I’m an addict! I just LOVE their clothes. Their fabrics, cuts and unique pieces are just…me.
Dress: Chic Wish
Bag: Kate Spade
Boots: Nine West
Today’s dress from Chic Wish took quite a while to make it to me from across the sea. I was very eager for it to arrive and I wasn’t disappointed!
I love to buy pieces that are unique and this dress definitely fits into that category. Notice the beautiful and quaint English countryside scene on the skirt? The extra detailing at the nape of the neck? The dress is made of a beautiful (and warm) brocade fabric which is nice during this time of year.
Today I paired it with boots by Nine West, my beautiful tobacco brown Kate Spade bag and a woven leather belt by Gap.
Fit: Chic Wish runs small. I typically wear a small in the US and needed a large in this dress. I find their clothes run one size smaller in the waist however, if you’re busty or have curves you might want to order two sizes up.
Fabric: Beautiful print and brocade but very rigid. The fabric does not stretch at all so as I said before, you will need to order up if you’re in doubt of your size.
Length: Perfect! I am 5’ 6” and I thought the length was spot on. I loved the flare of the skirt.
Price Point: What I REALLY love about Chic Wish is their affordability! This dress is on sale for $49.90. You can’t beat it!
Overall impression: Totally love it! I had several people – including men which was a little odd – ask where I bought the dress. I do think that even the men, really wanted to know! Some of my friends were disappointed that this was the largest size in this dress. I also ordered another Chic Wish dress and can’t wait to receive it!
Staying warm in this frigid winter weather can be difficult. Especially when one is taking outfit pictures outside in the elements! Today’s post is short and sweet and I must admit that I was trying really hard not to grimace while taking these shots.
Jacket: Carole Little Turtleneck: Under Armour
Skirt: ASOS Bag: Kate Spade NY
Boots: Nine West
One thing I’ve realized is that scuba material (neoprene) is quite warm, especially if its thick. Today’s post features one of my favorite ASOS purchases – a bright pink neoprene skirt. Similar here!
When paired with fleece lined tights, the wind was somewhat bearable as I posed. I also layered a turtleneck under my tweed jacket.
My biggest secret for keeping warm is layering.
WHAT you are layering makes a HUGE difference though. I’ve been layering my athletic workout wear – think dark fitted tops and leggings – under my everyday outfits – even jeans! These types of fabrics were designed to hold in heat and provide an extra layer of protection against the cold. They are also totally unnoticeable!
Under this fab jacket, I have on a Qualifier Turtleneck by Under Armour. It looks great and keeps me warmer without the bulk!
Hope you all have a GREAT weekend! Yay! It’s Friday!
This might just be the PERFECT little black dress.
Recently, LOFT ran a 60% off their Sale, Sale. Most people think I spend oodles of money on clothes. I’ll admit – I do spend some – and possibly more than most. However, its hard to beat 60% off of an already reduced price. I bought several items from this sale and this one is my favorite.
When I ordered it, I thought “oh great…like you need yet another black dress”. This dress IS different though. It really can be dressed up or down very easily and the faux leather really adds a cosmopolitan element. I can layer it over leggings and flats or wear it with heels and ruffles. The possibilities are endless. It has now gone into the “Go-To” area of my closet for days when I want to look great without a lot of effort.
I can’t forget to mention, especially with Valentine’s Day approaching, this wonderful “Ohh La La” Bella clutch I’m holding by Kate Spade. This one is no longer for sale on the Kate Spade site although you can find it here on eBAY. I’m currently craving the Love Birds Wink Clutch by Kate Spade also. Its so extremely stinkin’ cute, I can hardly stand to not buy it right now!
I hope you guys have an excellent weekend!
Don’t forget to follow me at my other media sites also!

Well..as the title states..this post is long overdue.
I love blogging, I love following other bloggers and I love my followers. Unfortunately, all of this blogging love doesn’t pay the bills or help my daughter learn Oh Captain, My Captain any quicker.
Between work, the Holidays, family and Thoreau, I’ve been pulled away from my sweet little niche I’ve carved out in this wide and wonderful internet world.
For those of you whom I usually follow, please know I’ve missed you all and I promise I’ll be back soon ..marveling at your talents and commenting on your fabulous posts. For those of you who follow me and wonder what quirky and crazy outfit I’ll come up with next, please be patient and know that I’ll be back working it soon…this crazy life of mine has to calm down!
That all leads to today’s post. This outfit just get’s me and I love it!
As in my last post, this skirt takes me away on a little journey and this time it’s to London…the skyline winking out at you as I walk by.
I can’t tell you how much I love this skirt. The fabric is fantastic and it hangs just right. It’s also affordable – on sale now for $48.90!! There are also other deals as part of Chic Wish’s Shop and Save event.
