I really do try to not check out the Chic Wish website. I seriously need to save some of my pay check for the future. What can I say, I’m an addict! I just LOVE their clothes. Their fabrics, cuts and unique pieces are just…me.
Dress: Chic Wish
Bag: Kate Spade
Boots: Nine West
Today’s dress from Chic Wish took quite a while to make it to me from across the sea. I was very eager for it to arrive and I wasn’t disappointed!
I love to buy pieces that are unique and this dress definitely fits into that category. Notice the beautiful and quaint English countryside scene on the skirt? The extra detailing at the nape of the neck? The dress is made of a beautiful (and warm) brocade fabric which is nice during this time of year.
Today I paired it with boots by Nine West, my beautiful tobacco brown Kate Spade bag and a woven leather belt by Gap.
Fit: Chic Wish runs small. I typically wear a small in the US and needed a large in this dress. I find their clothes run one size smaller in the waist however, if you’re busty or have curves you might want to order two sizes up.
Fabric: Beautiful print and brocade but very rigid. The fabric does not stretch at all so as I said before, you will need to order up if you’re in doubt of your size.
Length: Perfect! I am 5’ 6” and I thought the length was spot on. I loved the flare of the skirt.
Price Point: What I REALLY love about Chic Wish is their affordability! This dress is on sale for $49.90. You can’t beat it!
Overall impression: Totally love it! I had several people – including men which was a little odd – ask where I bought the dress. I do think that even the men, really wanted to know! Some of my friends were disappointed that this was the largest size in this dress. I also ordered another Chic Wish dress and can’t wait to receive it!

Well..as the title states..this post is long overdue.
I love blogging, I love following other bloggers and I love my followers. Unfortunately, all of this blogging love doesn’t pay the bills or help my daughter learn Oh Captain, My Captain any quicker.
Between work, the Holidays, family and Thoreau, I’ve been pulled away from my sweet little niche I’ve carved out in this wide and wonderful internet world.
For those of you whom I usually follow, please know I’ve missed you all and I promise I’ll be back soon ..marveling at your talents and commenting on your fabulous posts. For those of you who follow me and wonder what quirky and crazy outfit I’ll come up with next, please be patient and know that I’ll be back working it soon…this crazy life of mine has to calm down!
That all leads to today’s post. This outfit just get’s me and I love it!
As in my last post, this skirt takes me away on a little journey and this time it’s to London…the skyline winking out at you as I walk by.
I can’t tell you how much I love this skirt. The fabric is fantastic and it hangs just right. It’s also affordable – on sale now for $48.90!! There are also other deals as part of Chic Wish’s Shop and Save event.

Today I have on a faux fur vest. It is very warm and I’ve paired it with a skirt and boots. I have a friend who also owns a faux fur vest and looks smashing in it…but do I?
I am not one who typically doubts her fashion choices. Everyone who knows me or sees me on a regular basis knows I am quirky and a risk taker when it comes to trends. I like standing out in a crowd and don’t mind pushing the boundaries with my choices.
Today, however, I feel as if I’ve murdered a fluffy stuffed bear and taken its pelt as my prize!
Perhaps it’s the puffiness of the vest or that I can pet it if I’m feeling needy. Or that when I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, I thought I could accessorize with a nice Neanderthal-esqe club. All jokes aside, I find it difficult to wear faux fur. The first question of the day was, “Is it real”…which is at first flattering but quickly concerning as I’m not one to wear real fur (I’d have some explaining to do to my fluffy cat at home). The real difficulty lies with the fur look itself, even though it’s faux, looking too riche or upscale for more informal or business settings.
I think I’ll see how the vest is received today. The looks and comments I receive are usually a good indicator of the outfit’s success or failure. Or maybe I’ll just wear it with pride regardless of reception. If someone doesn’t like the look, I might just knock them about with my Neanderthal club and be done with it!

I’m wearing one of my favorite looks in today’s post – Animal Prints. These types of prints can be tricky as they really make a statement and will typically need to be paired with more simple items.
I found these particular pants at Target and was amazed at how versatile they were! They are actually capri pants and I usually wear them with cute wedge heels but I realized I can also wear them with boots as more of a riding pant.
To keep this look “work friendly”, I wore a simple black blouse and black, velveteen jacket. This shifted the focus to the pants without bringing too much attention to the more exotic print. Animal prints – sophisticated, chic, cool and memorable!
