A 1950’s Style – Vintage Holiday Party avec Cortneybre…

Holiday Parties..I love them so…

I just love the Holidays!  It’s such a wonderful time of the year to gather together with friends and family and celebrate the season.  I am also the type of girl who loves Holiday parties…ok..I actually love ALL sorts of parties but especially Holiday themed ones!  I’ve thrown a few themed parties in the past and this year, I decided to throw a 1950’s inspired Christmas Cocktail Party!

Inspiration

My recent post featuring my friend, Heather Marie, was actually the inspiration for the party.  I had so much fun learning about her pinup “Vintage-lite” style that I thought a 1950’s inspired party would be the perfect theme!

1950’s Christmas Party Prep

I designed an invitation using an authentic 1950’s Santa image I’d found online and used 1950’s inspired fonts to make the invite look period perfect.  I also bought some décor from Party City including cat’s eye glasses, 1950’s style art banners and hanging art.  I draped the hanging art and banner on my white Christmas tree and it was instantly transformed into a sock-hoppin Christmas!

Add a sprinkling of sparkling ladies

My wonderful friends came decked out in 1950’s inspired dresses and crinolines with hair rolled and pinned.  We added the cat’s eye glasses and the look was complete!  We had a wonderful time decorating cookies and munching on appetizers while Chris Issak and Elvis serenaded us with Holiday sounds!

And to all a good night

Any party with these lovely ladies would be great but adding the 1950’s theme really made it spectacular!  Everyone had a great time searching for the just the right look and I think we were all amazed at how much we enjoyed dressing up for the occasion.

Happy Holidays, friends!  From my home to yours…Cortneybre…
