Hello readers! Sorry I had to take a little break from the blogging world to tie up some work and personal items. I hope you missed me, for I missed you!

Today’s look is quite a…uh…looker. (Forgive me…I’m shaking off the dust that’s been clogging my blogging brain).

A friend of mine I mentioned in an earlier post, Sara, gifted me with some wonderful pieces from her closet that no longer held her interest. After sifting through her gift bag, I chose a few pieces to make my own – one of which is this lovely tiger print dress.

It’s a Phillip Lim for Target and I must say…it’s certainly attention getting. It was part of the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target Collection which debuted mid-2013.

Hence the title of my post….the question is: Is it “Bam!” as in…”in-your-face fabulous”! or is it too “Bamm, Bamm”? As in Barney Rubble’s son from the Flintstone’s.

Let’s hope it’s the former and not the latter! Judging by the feedback I’ve received today I think it is (hopefully)! I must say I’m quite impressed with the fit and feel of the dress. It’s comfortable and fits true to size. I think it’s a flattering cut too which I was worried about since its quite form fitting. Overall, I’m pleased with it!

I kept the jewelry very simple; just a pair of simple stud earrings. And I paired the dress with brown, coppery Steve Madden heels. I didn’t want to add anything to the dress as I felt even the slightest addition could throw the look over the top. …and into Bamm Bamm territory.

I wish this were something you could purchase now or that I could even find a comparable dress for you in case you’re interested in the look. The best I can do is point you in the direction of eBAY and wish you luck (click here). Actually, if you enter into your eBAY search filters, Phillip Lim for Target, you’ll come up with quite a selection. I’m thinking of purchasing the A-line skirt made out of this same fabric from the 3.1 collection if I can find my size on eBAY. Maybe you’ll see it in future posts!

I’ll just pretend I’m Pebbles when I wear it – she did always have the cutest little dinosaur bone accented top knot! Xoxo…Cortneybre…

Today’s post is all about the bag! I recently went on a mini shopping spree at a local Kate Spade outlet. It was my Mother’s Day present from my honey hubby and I indulged myself by purchasing three bags.

Before I went shopping, I decided I needed a strategy because… honestly…if left to my own devices in a Kate Spade store, I could either buy way too much and blow my budget or buy absolutely nothing at all. Buying nothing at all isn’t due to not finding a plethora of items I want, desire and covet.

No..no…it is due to being so totally overwhelmed and essentially star struck (yes, I know it’s sad that I’m star struck by a store full of purses) that I become indecisive and essentially purchasing paralyzed. This happens to me all the time at Barnes and Noble. I must go in with a plan or I wander aimlessly down aisle after aisle until I’m so exhausted I leave empty handed. I’m sure there is some sort of “syndrome” for this…but I’ve yet to label myself with some “-ism” and prefer to attack with a plan instead!

Back to my plan….my plan was to buy two to three bags that were unlike what I already own. I’m working on building a collection and I’ve covered several looks and needs with the bags I have purchased previously. Soooo…I was looking for different colors, different shapes and possible different sizes although I prefer a larger bag typically. I will say, I feel I was quite successful in the execution of such a plan, yes…quite successful. See that pop of color dangling from my hands!

Notice the details…notice the colors….notice the absolute awesomeness of the chain and…not to be missed…the detail on the clasp! It is a bag unlike any other of my collection! Be still my beating heart but isn’t it a lovely piece of leather?!

I did buy two other fab.u.lous bags….one of which has been featured in this week’s earlier posts. I love them too and they also move me forward in completing my collection. Hope you guys have a great Mother’s Day weekend! Xoxo…Cortneybre…

Skirting the Rules…

Hello friends…how’s your Hump Day treating ya? Mine is about the same…but I must say that the weather is fine and I’m enjoying being out and about.

Today’s look is sort of nautical (blue stripes) but in Technicolor (yellow, orange and coral). I wanted to be casual but not bland and I think the bright colors really popped against my blue and white striped top.

I was SO excited to wear my Terrace Blooms statement necklace from Chloe+Isabel today also!  It is a beautiful statement necklace and fits perfectly with any Spring or Summer look!  Shop here at my boutique!

I also wore my fave pair of flats (although I actually own just a few pairs of flats since heels are my preference).

Hope you’re having a great week so far! Cortneybre…
